Current Category Stomach Tubes
Stomach tubing is a dangerous procedure in unskilled hands, and should only ever be undertaken by a veterinarian. Stomach tubing involves inserting a flexible tube into one nostril, then down into the oesophagus via the throat. Fluids are then poured into the tube through a funnel. If the tube is incorrectly inserted into the trachea (windpipe) instead of the oesophagus, it may prove fatal.
