JAMES HART STABLIZE 500ML
James Hart Stabilize is an easily absorbed liquid formula to aid over-anxious or excitable horses in high stress situations. Stabilise is useful for settling fractious horses by helping them to cope in new surroundings or where strange objects cause alarm.
Stabilise can be used on horses and ponies of all ages.
- Valerian free
- Contains no banned substances
James Hart Stabilise is a redesign of an old favourite. It is often slower acting than Valerian Calm, so 2 or 3 doses may need to be given before a stressful event.
Its main use will be in competition where calming is required. (Valerian of course can not be used in competition as it will give a positive test.)
Composition New Stabilize contains 1:2 liquid extracts of Zizyphus and Wild Lettuce (equivalent to 500mg/ml of dry herb equivalent).
Suggested Dose Horses 10-20 mL twice daily Ponies 5-10 mL twice daily
It is generally safe to give a higher ration (up to twice the above) if necessary.
If New Stabilize is being used only in a competitive situation and not on a regular basis at home, the best protocol is to give the desired ration in the evening feed the day before the event. Give the same amount in the morning feed and again if necessary 30 minutes before the actual event.
New Stabilize contains no Valerian.
New Stabilize does not contain any ingredients recognized to contravene the regulations regarding prohibited substances.
FAQ’s How quickly does it work? Herbs given in a liquid form are generally faster acting and more effective than the dry herb. New Stabilize will begin to give benefits from the first day of feeding. On some horses you may see an effect within 20 minutes.
Can it be used long term? Under normal circumstances New Stabilize should be quite safe to use long term if necessary.
Can it be used when my horse already excited? Yes, it is quite safe to use New Stabilize on an excited horse.
It is safe to jump when using New Stabilize? New Stabilize is not a sedative and should not make your horse drowsy or unsafe to jump. To be on the safe side try it at home before using it in a competition or when hunting or jumping.
When should I recommend New Stabilize rather than Valerian Calm? Valerian Calm is 100% valerian which has been the calming herb of choice for many years. Because it works so well the FEI were desperate to develop a test for it. Having done this they now include it as a banned substance. It is regularly tested for it in competition under FEI and Jockey Club rules. So New Stabilize was developed using different herbs that do not show a positive test and should be recommended for competition. Users are urged to check with their governing discipline body for applicable Rules & Regulations for competition horses and ponies. The manufacturer warrants the manufacture of Stabilise but cannot be held responsible for incorrect use.
Stabilise is not recommended for pregnant mares.
